Raymond Rath

	Raymond Rath, 72, of Vergennes, passed away Monday, March 26, 2001 at 6:35 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Skilled Care Unit.
	Mr. Rath had been a Coal Miner at Consol 4 and a farmer.  He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ.  He was a member of DuQuoin Mason Lodge 234, Ainad Shriner Temple, Scottish Rite and the UMWA.  He was a Vergennes Road Commissioner for many years and he served on the Parrish Cemetery Board and the Vergennes Grade School Board.
	 Mr. Rath was born July 29, 1928 at Vergennes, the son of John and Bessie Bell (Wisely) Rath.  He married Mary Ragland on September 4, 1948 at DuQuoin.
	 Surviving are his wife, Mary Rath of Vergennes; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Steven Huelsmann of Pinckneyville; sister, Cora Heumann of Evansville, Ind.; granddaughter, Lee Ann Moody of Pinckneyville and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Katie and Allie.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ray Arthur Rath and one sister, Dorothy Fildes.
	Funeral services were Wednesday March 28 at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Weaver officiating. Interment was in Parrish Cemetery at Vergennes.
	Friends called at Neal-McClure Funeral Home Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
